Nearly 10 percent of the world's population live in extreme poverty. That's almost 1 billion people living below the World Bank poverty line of $1.90 per day.

And almost half the world (nearly 4 billion people) lives with a household income below $2.50 a day.

The Sustainable Development Goals aren't just about ending poverty around the world. They're about protecting our planet and making sure all people enjoy their basic human rights.
